Emma Thompson Hold’em for Life Leadership Award

Purpose

The purpose of the Emma Thompson Hold’em for Life Leadership Award is to recognize one postgraduate resident and one postgraduate clinical fellow on an annual basis who demonstrate outstanding cancer leadership through excellence in patient care, research mentorship, and/or teamwork. 

Award

Each Emma Thompson Hold’em for Life Leadership Award prize will range from $1,000 to $3,000.

Criteria and Consideration

Applicants must be registered postgraduate learners at the University of Toronto for the current academic year.

Nominees should have demonstrated outstanding leadership through exceptional patient care, quality improvement initiatives, advocacy, research mentorship or other contributions that advance cancer care.

Nomination Process

Each nomination package must have one copy of the following:

  • A letter from the Program Director outlining how the learner has demonstrated outstanding cancer leadership during their training. Letters should not exceed two pages. Only one letter per candidate will be considered for review.
  • Letters should be addressed to Dr. Meredith Giuliani, Associate Dean, PGME
  • Curriculum Vitae

The applications will be reviewed and ranked by the Postgraduate Awards Committee.
