Dr. Zulfiqar A. Bhutta is the Founding Director of the Centre of Excellence in Women and Child Health at the Aga Khan University; the Inaugural Robert Harding Chair in Global Child Health & Co-Director of the SickKids Centre for Global Child Health; and Chairman of The Coalition of Centres in Global Child Health with adjunct professorships at several Schools of Public Health including Johns Hopkins University, Harvard University, Tufts University, the University of Alberta and the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. Dr. Bhutta leads large research groups based in Toronto, Karachi and Nairobi with a special interest in research synthesis, scaling up evidence-based interventions in community settings, and implementation of reproductive, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health interventions in the context of humanitarian settings. As the current President of the International Pediatric Association, he is a leading voice for health professionals supporting integrated maternal, newborn and child health globally. Dr. Ashley Vandermorris is a Staff Paediatrician in the Division of Adolescent Medicine at SickKids. Ashley completed her undergraduate degree at Yale University, her medical degree at Harvard Medical School, and her residency in Paediatrics and fellowship in Adolescent Medicine both at SickKids. As an Adolescent Medicine physician, Ashley is committed to championing the ideals of accessibility, advocacy, equity, justice and collaboration as the fundamental tenets underpinning improved health for youth. Her academic interests focus on comprehensive, collaborative, and integrated approaches to transforming health systems to promote better outcomes for vulnerable youth, in both the local and global context. In addition to ongoing studies in Canada, as a member of the SickKids Centre for Global Child Health Ashley is currently engaged in adolescent health research projects in Senegal, India, and Malawi.
