In addition to salaries, UofT residents (PGY) who are members of the Professional Association of Residents of Ontario (PARO) are compensated for evening, overnight, and weekend calls. Residents are responsible for entering monthly call dates by accessing their online Call Stipends Data Entry module in POWER. On Call deadlines are exactly one week after the month of call with only one extra month as a courtesy. Email reminders are sent to residents through POWER. Helpful links are further below and both FAQ and PARO links appear on Residents’ Data Entry screen.
Stipends are paid by the University of Toronto, Faculty of Medicine Paymaster on behalf of the Ministry of Health and are paid on the 2nd payroll only – at the end of the month following call, i.e. July call is paid at the end of August.
