Medical Humanities Education Matching Funding Grants

Purpose

The Medical Humanities Education Matching Funding Grants was established in 2017. These grants support projects enhancing integration, application, and/or education within the scholarship of medical humanities and humanism in postgraduate medical education in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto.

Award

Grant recipients will be provided funding up to a maximum of $5,000 per project for a one-year period. Applicants must agree to submit a project report at the end of the period.

Nomination Process

Applications can be submitted by any faculty or staff member (individual or group) in the PGME programs of the Temerty Faculty of Medicine and must include the following:

  1. Completed Grant Application
  2. Letter of support from the co-funder (e.g. Departmental Chair, Hospital Chief)

Criteria and Considerations

Any faculty or staff member (individual or group) in the PGME programs of the University of Toronto Temerty Faculty of Medicine is eligible for consideration. Grants are designed to encourage engagement in the medical humanities to further enhance humanism, compassionate care, and clinical competencies and deliverables are closely aligned with the ongoing priorities of postgraduate medical education and CanMEDS roles.

Selection Process

Review and selection will be undertaken by the Post MD Education Medical Humanities Funding Grant Adjudication Committee. The nominating co-funder and winners will be notified by email.

If you have any questions, please contact Arlene McKinley.

*Incomplete applications will be discarded without consideration.
