In January of 2011, the Ontario Ministry of Health (MOH) entered into an agreement with the University of Toronto, Temerty Faculty of Medicine, to fund eligible community-based teaching activities (i.e., undergraduate MD pre-clerks, clerks and postgraduate residents). In order to be eligible to receive payment, all preceptors must have current academic appointments with the University of Toronto. The University of Toronto strongly values the academic contributions made by over 3,000 faculty members based in our community-affiliated hospitals, public health agencies, and countless office-based settings. For further information on how to obtain an academic appointment, benefits available to faculty members, or getting started on academic promotions, please visit the pages on this website.
