Dr. Ryan Giroux is a Métis General Pediatrician at St. Michael’s Hospital and the Inner City Health Associates in Toronto since completing his Pediatrics Residency (SickKids, University of Toronto) in 2021. His clinical work focuses on urban Indigenous child health in various community sites across the Greater Toronto Area. He is one of three Indigenous Educators at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, where he has focused on postgraduate accreditation since 2021, and is the Temerty Faculty of Medicine’s PGME Indigenous Health Faculty Lead since 2022.
He has been part of the Canadian Pediatric Society’s First Nation, Inuit, and Métis Health Committee since 2017, where he has lead advocacy, education, and research related to Indigenous child health. He has extensive leadership experience, including being the President of the Professional Association of Residents of Ontario (PARO) in 2020-2021, who are the official representative voice for resident physicians in Ontario, including in negotiations with the provincial government during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
