Access POWER & Sign your Letter of Appointment

Overview 

The Postgraduate Web Registration System (POWER) is the Temerty Faculty of Medicine’s online system for postgraduate medical education registration and evaluations. This system is used by all postgraduate learners to complete their registration and sign their Letter of Appointment (LOA).

Steps to Access POWER

1. Access your POWER Log in Credentials

  • Check your email - you will receive an email from postgrad.med@utoronto.ca with your PIN and temporary password.
  • Be sure to check your inbox and spam/junk folders

2. Log in to POWER

  • Use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox for optimal compatibility. 
  • Go to POWER login page and enter your credentials. 
  • Follow the on-screen prompts to access your account.

How to Retrieve your PIN or Password (if needed): 

  • Go to the POWER login page 
    • Click ‘Forgot your PIN and/or password?’ 
    • Enter the email address associated with POWER account and click ‘Send’. 
  • Check your email inbox and spam/junk folder for your PIN and password 

Steps to Sign your Letter of Appointment (LOA)

1. Find Your LOA

  • Log in to POWER and navigate to the ‘LOA Documents’ folder on the POWER menu. 

2. Review and Sign Your LOA

  • Carefully review your LOA for accuracy. 
  • Enter your full name in the designated field. 
  • Click ‘Submit’ to electronically sign and confirm your appointment.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

 

The LOA covers training for the upcoming academic year (July 1 – June 30). 

If your training extends beyond June 30, a new LOA will be issued in the spring of the following academic year

CPSO Submission:

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) begins accepting LOAs in mid-April each year. 

PGME will automatically send your signed LOA to CPSO as part of your licence application process
