The POWER roles include the following:
Administration Coordinator
Base Hospital Coordinator
Hospital Coordinator
Rotation Coordinator
Teacher
Admin Session Eval
Speaker
Administration Coordinator (AC)
This is granted normally to the person responsible for the rotation schedules of the program’s registered University of Toronto postgrad Trainees. One or more persons can have access to this role. ACs can have as much access to POWER as the PD role, provided the PD grants all access to the AC.
Base Hospital Coordinator (BHC)
Base Hospital Coordinator role is granted to Site Administrators who are responsible for managing the rotation schedule of a group of trainees, usually trainees based at their hospital.
Base Hospital Coordinator role can also be granted to Chiefs of a hospital. They can be given access to view the Rotation Effectiveness (RES) and/or the Teachers’ Effectiveness Score (TES) reports for their hospital, and only for your program.
Hospital Coordinator (HC)
Hospital Coordinators are normally situated in one or more hospitals and responsible for assigning supervisors to trainees taking rotations at their hospital.
Once a trainee is assigned to a rotation at the HC’s location then the HC will see the trainee’s rotation information in his/her POWER screen and be able to assign a supervisor to that rotation.
Rotation Coordinator (RC)
Rotation Coordinators are normally responsible for one or more rotation services at one or more hospitals.
Once a trainee is assigned to a rotation that the RC is responsible for then the RC will assign a supervisor to that trainee’s rotation.
Teacher
Teachers basically complete trainee evaluations using POWER. They need to have this access in order to be assigned to Trainees’ rotations and to be evaluated by Trainees.
Teachers can also have access to view their TES report via POWER.
Admin Session Eval
This role is available if the program is using the Academic Session function in POWER. This role provides the user with access to the menu items of the Academic Session function.
Speaker
The Speaker role is not set in this screen. It is added only if the program is using the Academic Session function. When a user is added as Speaker for an academic session the system will automatically list the user here. The Speaker does not have any access to POWER.
